Good Morning!
The main character in the movie, “Up Close and Personal” is a TV newsman who dies trying to get a story in one of the world's trouble spots. After his death, he is remembered for saying, “I once thought reporting was about glory. But I'm here for only one reason - to tell the story.”
The apostle Paul knew that if he went to Jerusalem he would be persecuted. Undeterred, he declared that his purpose was “to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
Everyday God calls people to tell the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him. When witnessing for Christ, may it be with love and humility, motivated by a desire for His glory, not our own. We are to be examples of Christ and to tell the good news story.

SABRINA
When we read the stories about Jesus, we will read about many situations where Jesus takes time away from people to pray and build his relationship with God. Jesus also took time away to build his relationship with his disciples.
That is also true for us in marriage.
In order to have a healthy marriage taking time away to build our relationship with our partner is a necessity. During this time of year, it may be as simple as sitting together on the couch on a cold night.
The holidays are gone, the parties you attended were great, but I am talking alone, one-on-one time. Your life together began with just the two of you, and it will end with just the two of you. There is no one else other than God who knows the real you better than your spouse.
God created the institution of marriage...it is to be held in sacred estate.
As you begin the New Year, let your spouse know how much you love and appreciate them and make it a priority to spend some quality time together in 2013.

GLENDA
Good Morning: Have you ever had these thoughts? I'm not perfect. I have all kinds of problems. I have no ability. I have no gifts. I'm just not worthy. Why would God want me? Well, did you know that Moses stuttered; Jacob was a liar; David had an affair; Abraham was old; Timothy was young; Moses was a murderer; Jonah ran from God; Miriam was a gossip; Gideon and Thomas both doubted; Jeremiah was depressed and suicidal; Martha was a worry-wart; and Noah got drunk.
The list goes on and on, but God loved them and used them anyway. No, we're not perfect, but God loves us and can use us no matter who we are, where we've been, or what we have done. Isn't that amazing? Think on these things and have a wonderful day!

The apostle Paul wrote: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!”
are you a dreamer? Even if you are not a dreamer, imagine the most impossible thing you could do to honor God. Then realize that God can do far more through you than that -- more than you can even begin to imagine! And the power to do it? The power at work within you? Ah yes, you guessed it: it is the power of the Holy Spirit! The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work within each true follower of Jesus. So dream your wildest dream for God's will in your life today for his glory.

I LOVE Christmas,
so I am always a little
sad when Christmas
has come and gone. I long for the joy and excitement of Christmas to remain
throughout the year.
Someone has said:
“When you toss out
the Christmas tree,
be careful you don't
throw out the
Christmas spirit with
it.” How profound.
Exactly, what is the
Christmas spirit? The Bible tells us. It is found in Galatians 5:22. I believe we know it as Fruit of the Spirit
The fruit is:
love
joy
peace
patience
kindness
generosity
faithfulness
gentleness and
self-control
Let us let the Spirit -
the Holy Spirit,
the Spirit of
Christmas in us
throughout the year of 2013.

A woman said to a preacher, “I have a habit that I know is hurting my testimony - the habit of exaggeration. I start to tell something and I go on and on, enlarging the story. People suspect that it's not true, and they lose confidence in me. I'm trying to get over it. Could you help me?
He responded, “Let's talk to the Lord about it.”
She prayed, “Lord, you know I have this habit of exaggeration…”
The preacher interrupted, “Call it lying and you may get over it!”
The woman was deeply convicted and confessed her wrong.
We often excuse our sins by giving them more acceptable names. Our bad temper we call “nerves'; our untruthfulness, “exaggeration”; our dishonesty, we call “good business.” To overcome these sins, bring them out in the open, call them honestly by name, and sincerely repent.

Good morning! I am Owen Weddle, Associate Pastor at Central!
Happy New Years! I hope it's starting great!
Like every year, we make our resolutions; we hope the beginning of the New Year symbolizes a freshness to our lives; we hope our habits, our family, our friendships, and our careers take a new turn. But with every hope for newness, tags along the fog of questions and the unknown. What will this year contain? Can I finally get that promotion? Will I get married? Will this year be better than the last?
The Gospel tells us that God is making new things out of our lives. The Apostle Paul says, “if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!” But that means many of the old things and habits we are familiar with have to go away and life will take an unfamiliar turn. Let God make changes in this year for you. It is anxiety causing, I know, but uncertainty precedes the new life we hope for.
If you do not have a church home, I invite you to Central to make a new start to your life with God this year.
