BOB

Good morning. This is Bob Peden of Central, a United Methodist Community here in Meridian. Those of us who are baby-boomers once dreamed of making the world a better place. Now, all we seem to want to do is complain. We complain about all the things that are not just as we wish they were, forgetting about all the things that are so much than they were in our youth.

With the Psalmist of the 71st Psalm we say, “Now that I am old and gray,
do not abandon me, O God.” And we pray that we can have a better retirement income and economic security. We ask that we can have good health and a comfortable lifestyle.

But that is not what the Psalmist asks for. He continues: “Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.” That is our task as Christians. Not complaining about the failures - but proclaiming the greatness of God.
