Good morning, I’m Tim Wise, Sanctuary Choir Director at Central.

Yesterday, we celebrated what many understand to be the birthday of the church known as Pentecost. It’s the day the holy spirit filled crowds of people and enabled everyone gathered around to understand each other even though they spoke different languages. Peter then takes the opportunity to tell those gathered around about the resurrection of Christ.

It is then that the changes began - Peter commanded them to change their hearts and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and then they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. There were over 3,000 people received that day into the community of faith.
