BOB

Good morning! This is Bob Peden of Central, a United Methodist Community here in Meridian. “What possessions have you?” Notice, it is not, “What possession do you have?” But rather, “What possessions have you?”

For in a very real sense it is those things which we think belong to us that define who we are. Possessions own us. Each one demands a small or large amount of our time and attention. Even if it is just to dust a candle on the table or pay the rent on the storage space down the road. In truth, we own nothing. Everything belongs to God. He merely entrusts things into our care, expecting that we will use those things to further his kingdom. But when we become attached to the things of this world, they begin to control us - they demand our money and our time. They soon own us as their servants. So, think about it today. “What possessions own you?”
