Good Morning! I’m John Branning the Lead Pastor of Central United Methodist Church. I have noticed on Facebook over the past few months people are really getting into the idea of paying it forward. This is where you do a good deed for someone and then they do one for someone else. The idea is that one act of kindness can motivate a thousand more.
Believe it or not, this is not a new phenomenon, because I believe that Jesus was the first one to teach on this idea. Jesus told his followers to do to others as you would have them do to you. This simple teaching by Jesus if we lived by it would transform our world. We would move from being a self centered society all the way to a self giving one. We would try to out love the other person, and I believe that is one competition that in the end everyone is the winner. Do to others today as you would have them do to you.
