Hi! I’m Bob Rambo, Lead Pastor at Central United Methodist Church. Later this morning, my wife Susie and I will return to the Queen City after spending the last 2 weeks studying together in Israel and Jordan with 14 others from Meridian.
The lands of the Bible are often referred to as the “5th gospel”. What is meant by this is that knowing something about the lands of the Bible helps us understand Scripture more clearly. So for the past 20 years, I’ve led groups there so people can see for themselves and hear the Bible stories where they took place.
Every student comes home with a different “favorite” place. For some, it will be Bethlehem in Judea; for others, it’s Bethsaida in Galilee or Petra in the land of Edom.
But while traveling to the Holy Lands is a spiritual experience – you don’t have to travel to the Middle East to experience God’s presence. God is with us wherever we are. So today – let’s give thanks. GOD IS WITH US.
