DENNIS

Good Morning. I am Dennis Gossett from Central United Methodist Church. In his epistle, the Apostle

Peter writes of encouragement to all who find themselves in the middle of life's trials.

During these times, it is easy to become cynical, which robs us of all joy. Cynicism turns a deaf ear to

the Gospel that announces good tidings to the meek, liberty to captives, and the opening of the prison

to them that are bound.
There is hope and love available to us in spite of what life tries to throw at us.

In first Peter, the Apostle goes so far as to say that the trials of faith can even be precious. See, Christ is

our hope in all things; he is our peace that somehow passes all understanding. Thus, we can cling to

faith as we would a precious stone.

You are invited to be a part of the Central United Methodist Church family; a place where you will

receive the same encouragement spoken of in Scripture.
