DENNIS

Good Morning, I am Dennis Gossett with Central United Methodist

Church. Well, by now summer is officially in full force. If you are like me,

you are planning vacations, taking time off from your jobs, and your

students are getting a break from their studies.

During this time of year, we want to relax and enjoy ourselves. After all,

isn’t that what summer is all about? But, this should not be an excuse to

grow relaxed in our faith. It is tempting to let our prayer life grow weak

when we are surrounded by our vacation paradise. God wants us to always

rely upon him, even when things could not seemingly get any better. That is

why he reminds you to always “make your petitions deeps.”

There are still people and situations in your life, in your community, and in

the world that still need your wonderful intercession. When we continue to

offer up our deep petitions to God, we are keeping our hearts fixated on the

One who is working in all things. So, as you are soaking up the suns rays on

your vacation and you’re getting a moment of relaxation, remember those

who could use some time soaking up the rays of God’s Son and are in need

of His peace. Then offer them up joyfully to Him.
