RAY DURDEN

When you’re thirsty, cotton-mouth parched, water is what you want and need. Scientists have told us that we can survive for only a matter of days without water.  Being thirsty reminds us that we need to drink; therefore, our thirst helps keep us alive.

Another thirst is crucial in keeping us spiritually alive.  That is the thirst of our soul. This soul thirst recognizes when we have let our lives become arid deserts, wandering far from the fountain of life.  With only sand around us, we look for the oasis, the soul-quenching satisfaction that only God can give.  Jesus invited soul-thirsty people to come to him, “if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink” (John 7:37).
Only in him will our souls find complete satisfaction.  Only through his Spirit can we know precisely and perfectly the One who is the eternal source for a fully satisfied soul.
HOLY SPIRIT, I WANT YOU TO QUENCH MY THIRST TODAY WITH RIVERS OF LIVING WATER!
