Good Morning! My name is Kristina Crabtree, and I am the minister of Spiritual Formation at Central United Methodist Church.
Today is my daughter’s 4th birthday. With any birthday, we think back over the day of their birth, the journey that parents and families go through in order to bring a new child into the world. Bringing a child into to the world is very much an act of humility. For Ps. 139 beautifully describes how God knew us even before we were conceived. He was there in our mother’s womb, and he is the God who is always with us today.
As followers of Jesus, we are called to be imitators of Jesus. If you are a follower of Jesus, your life is a spiritual journey that is being formed each and every day more into the image of Jesus. We were naturally created in the image of God, but our formation, our journey as a follower is very much about becoming like the Father’s son.
I hope you will take your own spiritual birth and formation into the image of God’s son as a way of reflection today. I hope you have a great day! Happy birthday, Dani!
