Hi! I'm Bob Rambo, Lead Pastor at Central United Methodist Church. There's a story about a woman who went out for the evening; she stayed later than she anticipated, and when she got ready to go home, it was dark and the streets were deserted. Then she discovered she had accidentally locked her keys in her car. But being a woman of faith, she PRAYED that God would send someone to help her.
In just a moment, a beat-up car passed by. A rough-looking guy got out of the car. The woman told him what had happened, and in 30 seconds, he had the car door open.
The woman was elated. She said Mister, you're an angel! The man said: Lady, I just got out of prison today after serving 2 years for auto theft. The woman looked up to heaven and says: Thank you, Jesus! You sent me a professional!
The Bible teaches that God hears and responds when we pray; and we are encouraged to pray. Our prayers may not always be answered as quickly as the woman in the story, or in exactly the way we hope. But God hears and responds when we pray.
