RAMBO

Hi!  I'm Bob Rambo, Lead Pastor at Central United Methodist Church.  This weekend is Memorial Day weekend; Monday is Memorial Day.  It's the day our nation remembers our fallen soldiers.

From the beginning of our nation's history, freedom has been won and maintained, because of the sacrifice of those who fought to keep us free.  Many of those who fought made the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE of their lives.  I encourage you this weekend to pause for a moment of gratitude for those who serve our country and especially for those who have given their lives for us.

The theme of sacrificial giving is very prominent in the Bible.  In the Old Testament, Jewish priests slaughtered animals to atone for the sins of the Israelites.  In the New Testament, Jesus dies on the cross, making the ultimate sacrifice of his life for the sins of the whole world.

On Memorial Day, we remember our fallen soldiers; but every day, we are invited to live as followers of Jesus, who gave his life for us.

Make it a great day!
