OWEN

Good morning! I am Owen Weddle, Associate Pastor at Central!

What is wisdom? If I were to ask 100 people to define wisdom, I would probably get 100 different definitions. Wisdom is one of those things we know when we see it. But the Bible in James 3:17 gives us a sense of what wisdom is about: “The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.”

When we act with wisdom, we learn how to resolve difficulties in our life while treating other people with kindness and not being the one causing a fight. When you and a coworker are going in different directions to complete a project, wisdom helps you to find a way to work together without getting into a tug-of-war. When you and your spouse disagree on something, wisdom helps you to hold back those spiteful words that can so easily come out of our mouths.

Wisdom doesn't mean our life will be conflict free, but wisdom means we won't be the one creating the conflict.

May God bless you!
