GLENDA

Good Morning: From graduating High School at the age of 15 to becoming the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Martin Luther

King was marked for greatness. He delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech to over 250,000 people from the Lincoln memorial demonstrating

for civil rights. He was present at the White House in 1965 when the voting Rights Act was signed by Pres. Johnson. He believed in non-

violent civil protest, racial brotherhood, and equal rights for all. He was willing to step up, stand firm, and give voice to his beliefs. As a

Baptist minister, he was a Christian who believed in peaceful living, but was not afraid to fight for what is right. That's why we remember Dr.

King today. One of my favorite quotes of his is this: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Remember Dr. King today by

doing something good for someone else. Have a great day!
