Hi! I’m Bob Rambo, Lead Pastor at Central United Methodist Church.
Well, here we are at year’s end. As we count down these final hours of 2011, did everything go as you expected it to this year? Did all of your plans and expectations fall into place exactly as you had hoped? Or did life “zig” when you expected it to “zag”? Chances are that some things about this year didn’t work out exactly the way we envisioned it would be back last New Year’s Day.
Sometimes life goes in a different direction because of decisions we make. At other times, life changes suddenly through no fault of our own. We might wish things would never change – but when things don’t change, that’s one definition of “death.” Unless we’re already dead, change happens.
None of us know what 2012 will bring. I’m pretty certain that not everything will go exactly as we plan. God never promises to give us a life that doesn’t change. God’s promise is to be with us through life’s changes.
