GINA PUCKETT

Good Morning!

In Luke Chapter 16, Jesus tells us a story about a rich man who did not make it through the pearly gates of Heaven, but instead was thrown into the depths of hell. He was in much torment there, and he wanted to warn his five brothers that if they did not change their earthly ways, they, too, would end up in the same agony.  But Abraham reminds the man that his brothers have Moses and the prophets, and says, “Let them listen to them.” “No, father Abraham,” says the man, “But if someone from the dead goes to them, they would repent.” Abraham replies, “If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.”

God has provided us with so many tools and resources that help us to lead a Christian life, but sometimes we just do not listen. We have the Bible that teaches us how to live, a community of friends in faith through the church, and Jesus Himself is always with us, helping us along our journey. It should not take a monumental change or a devastating disaster to make us understand that God is very real. We just have to believe.
