SABRINA

Happy National Friendship Day!  My children grew up
loving Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.  Fred Rogers, was not
only an actor, but a minister.  He did not quote scripture or
tell Bible stories on his daytime afternoon show, but there
was something markedly different in his conversations with
children. He LIVED his Christianity.

In this day of Bullying, we need another Mr. Rogers. He
stated, “Everyone longs to be loved, and the greatest thing
we can do is to let people know that they are loved and
capable of loving.

If you could only sense how important you are to the lives
of those you meet; how important you can be to the people
you may never even dream of. There is something of
yourself that you leave at every encounter with another
person.” That understanding is what friendship is all about.
So, on National Friendship Day, let us each strive to be a
friend to someone in need of a friend, and today, “May the
raindrops fall lightly on your brow. May the soft winds
freshen your spirit. May the sunshine brighten your heart,
May the burdens of the day rest lightly upon you. And may
God enfold you in the mantle of His love.
