RAY DURDEN

Good Morning!

When it’s time to collect items to give away or to sell at a garage sale, we think about things we don’t need: that extra coffeemaker someone gave us, that picture frame gathering dust, and those books we never read. But we keep a vise grip on the things we think we need the most – the items of most value to us. Ironically, some of those things end up at the next garage sale.

Jesus advised his disciples to let go of the things on this earth and to transfer their grip to the things that aren’t of this world.

The possessions of heaven can’t be lost or stolen here on earth. Offering ourselves and our belongings to God is a way of storing up treasure in heaven. It also helps us to hold thing loosely in this life. We came into this world with nothing, and we can take nothing we have in this world into the next.

What will you offer God? Have a blessed day!
