SABRINA

Having recently observed the 8th anniversary of hurricane Katrina, I am reminded of a

women's conference I attended in Gulfport 3 years later. This meeting was the first gathering of this group since Katrina. The speaker reflected on the journey of their church. Heavily damaged, left with nothing but outside walls, the church faced the dilemma to move or rebuild. The dynamics of the neighborhood had changed drastically. Reflecting on the many acts of love and kindness afforded to them in their time of need, it became obvious that they had indeed been blessed to be a blessing. The decision was made to stay where they were, ministering to the changed neighborhood around them. God's gift of love continues on.

That congregation gets it! Do we? Let us never forget, in our wealth of blessing, there are those less fortunate, hungry, hurting, in need of just our time and love.

Go today, live a blessing with open eyes and hearts, into a world who needs to know and feel God's love.
